CAR SHOW TO BENEFIT THE FOODBANK

Car Show to Benefit The Foodbank

Dayton, June 18, 2008 - This Sunday, June 22, The Foodbank will be the recipient of funds raised at the first Cruise-In For Hunger. The event is being held in the parking lot of the Discount Drug Mart, 1575 Lyons Rd., Centerville. The entry fee is $5, and this entitles you to a free hot dog and drink. So pull your classic car out of the garage, grab a few cans of food to donate, and join us! The cruise-in beings at 11 am, and awards will start at 2 pm. There will even be a special "The Foodbank Choice" winner.

The event is being run by Tim Templin, a volunteer with the Mid-Ohio Foodbank in Columbus. He has run similar cruise-ins in Columbus for the past few years, and has raised thousands of dollars to combat hunger in that area. As a native of Dayton, he wanted to give back to his hometown as well, and organized the Cruise-In For Hunger. "We're excited Mr. Templin thought of us and the hungry in his hometown when organizing this event," states Burma Rai, The Foodbank CEO.
