The Foodbank is one of 12 regional Ohio food banks that will receive a grant through the company’s Nourishing People Challenge. Representatives from Cargill will be at The Foodbank on April 16 at 10:00 a.m. to present the $30,000 award. This generous award from Cargill will be used to support and enhance our Good to Go Backpack program which serves children who are at risk of weekend hunger." The Foodbank is in partnership with 11 local elementary schools and Kids Café sites and distributes kid-friendly foods to more than 800 children per week. Good to Go Backpacks contain an assortment of easy-open cans of fruits, vegetables, pasta, pudding, shelf stable milk, cereal, juice and peanut butter. “The Foodbank is extremely thankful to Cargill and its Nourishing People Challenge for this much needed donation”, said Roepken.
