Letter from ChairDear Friends, Most of us don’t worry about from where our next meal will come. But tens of thousands of children and adults in the Miami Valley aren’t so lucky. They are the reason The Foodbank exists. The Foodbank has led the charge to relieve hunger in Montgomery, Greene and Preble counties for more than three decades, providing the infrastructure that supports our region’s charitable food relief network. This network of pantries and prepared meal programs depends on The Foodbank to acquire and make available safe, nutritious food for people in need. The Foodbank also addresses gaps in service by offering programs that address the needs of specific, at-risk populations, including schoolchildren living in poverty and adults with special dietary requirements. While our vision is to ensure that food relief is available to all hungry people, we can’t do it alone. Won’t you join us in helping those who struggle with this most basic of all needs? Your donation of funds, time and food can make a real difference in the lives of thousands of people in our community. Mary Mendenhall Chair, The Foodbank In 2007 The Foodbank provided the equivalent of 3,401,446 meals to the hungry in our community. |
