Kroger Helps The Foodbank Bring Hope To The Table

Dayton, July 21, 2008 – The Kroger Co.’s Cincinnati/Dayton Division held a check presentation on Wednesday, July 21 and awarded The Foodbank a generous check for $37,000. Geoff Covert, President of Kroger’s Cincinnati/Dayton Division presented the funds which are the result of Kroger’s “Bringing Hope to the Table” campaign, Cincinnati Television Together promotion, and the Division Recycling program to several local food banks.

Four and a Half Million Pounds of Food Distributed to Needy

Dayton, June 24, 2010 - The Foodbank Keeps Pace During Difficult Economy - This year The Foodbank has fed more people, with more food, in its 34-year history and continues to make great strides in the fight against hunger. As the trend of the last three years continues, more area families are falling under the poverty line and are seeking assistance for basic needs such as food. In 2007 The Foodbank distributed 2.9 million pounds of food to the community. Since that time distribution has risen steadily at a rate of 54% to help feed hungry children and families.

El Meson Celebrates "A Sunday of Giving" For Local Charities

Dayton, June 16, 2010 - The Foodbank, DAI, and ARC Ohio to Benefit from Father’s Day Event - On Father’s Day, June 20, patrons of El Meson restaurant in West Carrollton will have the opportunity to honor their dads while giving back to the community. The Castro family, owners of El Meson, has designated this Father’s Day as A Sunday of Giving that will benefit three local charities; The Foodbank, DAI, and ARC Ohio. This will be the second annual Sunday of Giving event that the restaurateurs have hosted.
